Register for Self-Service Password Reset and Multi-Factor Authentication.

  1. We would like to remind you to register for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) if you have not done so already. Please do this so that you can take advantage of the new security enhancements.
  2. YOU MUST COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION by June 19th 2023 to avoid disruption in your account access as all faculty, staff and student passwords will be reset on June 20th 2023. 
  3. Next steps After you register, you will be able to add a safe and secure two-step verification method for your online credentials from a range of authentication options (such as phone call, text message, or mobile app notification) to access your applications. You will also be able to reset your password from Office 365 portal.
  4. Be careful who you let use your computer. Roommates, friends, and relatives may click or install things that put your computer and privacy at risk.
  5. Don't share your user names or passwords with anyone. Ever.

Set Up Multifactor Authentication

Now that TSU faculty, staff and students are using multi-factor authentication, it is important to be prepared while traveling, teaching or while simply carrying out daily university business as you won’t want to be unable to connect to key services when you need them.

You should have a backup plan in the event your primary authentication factor (e.g., your smartphone) is lost, stolen or replaced.

In most cases users will be recommended to use their smart phone device with the Microsoft Authenticator app. A guide for instalation can be found here. For any special scinerios such as a user not having a device, please contact the help desk.

All users

It is recommended that all users to use their smartphone device as their primary tool for authenticating their student account. If you have already read the provided documentation and watched the videos and still have questions please contact the help desk.

Multi-Factor Authentication Best Practices

  • Backing up your phone. In the event that your phone is lost or stolen we sugest pre-configuring your device to support cloud recovery.
  • Before Traveling please let a member of OIT staff know the location that you weill be traveling to.
  • Use caution when reciving any unexpected authentication request sent to your device.
  • Please report any suspisious behavior to the OIT helpdesk.
